Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how ChordPros (“ChordPros,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information in connection with the ChordPros mobile application (the “App”).

ChordPros is a music education and creative tool for exploring chords, harmony, keys, voicings, and chord progressions.

We may change our information practices in the future. If we do, we will update this Privacy Policy and our applicable App Store privacy disclosures as required.

1. Information ChordPros Collects

Information we collect

At launch, ChordPros does not collect personal information from users through the App.

You do not need to create an account or provide ChordPros with your name, email address, phone number, physical address, or similar identifying information to use the App.

ChordPros does not currently collect:

• Names
• Email addresses
• Phone numbers
• Physical addresses
• Contacts
• Photos or videos
• Audio recordings
• Location information
• Advertising identifiers
• Device identifiers for analytics
• Browsing history
• Search history
• Usage analytics
• User profiles

ChordPros also does not currently collect information about which chords, keys, or progressions you use.

Information stored on your device

The App may store information locally on your device as necessary to provide its functionality, including preferences, settings, and other App data.

Information that remains solely on your device is not considered collected by ChordPros merely because the App stores or accesses it locally.

Apple’s App Store privacy guidance similarly distinguishes information processed only on-device from information transmitted off-device.

2. iCloud and CloudKit

ChordPros may use Apple’s iCloud and CloudKit services to store and synchronize information you choose to save in the App, such as chord progressions.

When information is synchronized through iCloud or CloudKit, it is transmitted to and stored using Apple’s services.

ChordPros does not control Apple’s iCloud or CloudKit infrastructure.

Your use of Apple’s services is also subject to Apple’s applicable terms and privacy practices.

ChordPros does not use iCloud or CloudKit to create advertising profiles or to track your activity across other apps or websites.

3. Information We Currently Do Not Collect for Analytics

ChordPros does not currently use analytics services to collect information about how users interact with the App.

For example, we do not currently collect usage information such as:

• Which chords users add
• Which keys users select
• Which chord progressions users create
• Which features users use
• How frequently users use particular features
• How long users use the App
• App launches or interactions for analytics purposes

We also do not currently use advertising or cross-app tracking.

4. Future Analytics

We may introduce limited analytics in future versions of ChordPros to understand how the App is used and to improve its functionality.

If introduced, analytics may include information such as:

• Chords or keys selected
• Chord progressions created or used
• Feature interactions
• Aggregated usage statistics
• Crash information
• Performance and diagnostic information

Our intention is to collect only information reasonably necessary for these purposes and, where technically feasible, to design analytics so that they are not associated with an identifiable individual.

For example, we may analyze information such as “C major was used in 24% of saved progressions,” rather than maintaining a profile identifying which particular person generated that statistic.

If we introduce analytics or other data collection, we will update this Privacy Policy and the privacy information displayed through the App Store as appropriate. Apple requires developers to keep their App Store privacy disclosures accurate when data practices change.

Where applicable law requires consent or another user choice before such processing begins, we will provide the required notice or choice.

5. How We Use Information

Because ChordPros currently does not collect personal information or usage analytics, we do not currently use information collected through the App to:

• Identify individual users;
• Build individual user profiles;
• Deliver advertising;
• Measure advertising;
• Sell personal information;
• Share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising; or
• Analyze individual users’ behavior.

Information stored locally or through iCloud/CloudKit may be used to provide the App’s functionality, such as allowing your saved progressions to synchronize between your compatible devices.

If our practices change, we will describe the applicable purposes in this Privacy Policy.

6. Third-Party Services

ChordPros may rely on services provided by Apple to distribute and operate the App, process App Store purchases and subscriptions, and provide services such as iCloud and CloudKit.

Apple may process information independently under Apple’s own privacy policies and terms.

ChordPros does not currently use third-party advertising networks or third-party analytics services.

If we add third-party services that process information on our behalf, we will update this Privacy Policy as required.

Apple requires developers to account for data collected by third-party partners integrated into an app when completing App Store privacy disclosures.

7. Purchases and Subscriptions

ChordPros may offer optional paid subscriptions through Apple’s App Store.

Payments are processed through Apple’s App Store payment infrastructure. ChordPros does not receive your full payment-card number from an App Store purchase.

Apple may process information relating to your purchase or subscription according to Apple’s privacy practices.

8. Information We Share

ChordPros does not currently sell personal information.

ChordPros does not currently share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

If we introduce a practice involving the disclosure, sale, or sharing of personal information, we will update this Privacy Policy and provide any rights or choices required by applicable law.

9. Data Retention and Deletion

Because ChordPros does not currently maintain a database of personal information collected from users through the App, we generally do not have personal information about individual users that we can retrieve, correct, or delete.

Information stored locally on your device can generally be removed by deleting the App or removing the applicable information through available App or device controls.

Information stored through iCloud or CloudKit is subject to Apple’s systems and applicable Apple controls.

If ChordPros begins maintaining personal information on its own systems in the future, this Privacy Policy will describe applicable retention and deletion practices.

10. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights concerning personal information, including rights to:

• Access information held about you;
• Request correction of inaccurate information;
• Request deletion;
• Request information about how information is collected and used;
• Object to or restrict certain processing;
• Request portability of certain information;
• Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent; and
• Lodge a complaint with an applicable privacy regulator.

Because ChordPros currently does not collect or maintain personal information through the App, there may be no personal information held by ChordPros that can be accessed, corrected, or deleted in response to a request.

We will process applicable requests in accordance with the law that applies to you.

11. California Residents

This section applies to California residents to the extent the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended, applies to ChordPros.

Information collected

During the preceding 12 months, ChordPros has not collected personal information from users through the App.

Accordingly, ChordPros has not sold or shared personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising during that period.

California law provides certain rights concerning personal information, including rights to know, delete, and correct, subject to applicable exceptions and limitations.

Because ChordPros does not currently maintain personal information collected through the App that can reasonably be associated with an individual user, we generally cannot provide, correct, or delete information that we do not possess.

We will handle qualifying requests according to applicable California law.

12. European Economic Area and United Kingdom

If you are located in the European Economic Area or United Kingdom, applicable data protection laws may provide additional rights.

These may include rights to:

• Access personal data;
• Correct inaccurate personal data;
• Request deletion;
• Restrict processing;
• Object to processing;
• Receive certain personal data in a portable format; and
• Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

Because ChordPros currently does not collect personal information through the App for its own purposes, we generally do not process personal data in connection with ordinary App usage.

If this changes, we will identify the applicable purposes and legal bases for processing in accordance with applicable law.

You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with your applicable data protection supervisory authority.

13. Canada

If you are located in Canada, applicable federal or provincial privacy laws may provide rights concerning personal information.

ChordPros does not currently collect personal information through the App for its own purposes.

If our information practices change, we will provide applicable information about the purposes of collection, use, disclosure, retention, and consent.

14. Australia and Other Jurisdictions

Privacy laws vary between jurisdictions.

ChordPros intends to handle information in accordance with applicable privacy laws in the jurisdictions where the App is made available.

Where applicable law provides privacy rights or protections that are not specifically described in this Privacy Policy, those rights continue to apply.

15. Children’s Privacy

ChordPros does not currently collect personal information through the App.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the App.

16. Security

We take reasonable measures appropriate to the information we process to protect information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction.

Because ChordPros currently does not collect personal information or usage analytics on its own systems, our direct collection of information through the App is limited.

Information transmitted to or stored through Apple services is subject to Apple’s security measures and practices.

No method of electronic storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

17. International Users

ChordPros may be available internationally.

If information is processed in connection with your use of the App, that information may be processed in countries other than the country in which you live, subject to applicable law.

Where required, ChordPros will provide appropriate safeguards and disclosures concerning international transfers of personal information.

18. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect:

• Changes to ChordPros;
• Changes to our information practices;
• New features or services;
• Changes to third-party services; or
• Changes in applicable law.

When we update this Privacy Policy, we will change the Last Updated date at the top.

If we make a material change to how we collect, use, disclose, or otherwise process personal information, we will provide additional notice or obtain consent where required by applicable law.

Changes that do not materially affect our information practices, such as correcting errors, improving wording, or updating contact information, generally do not require renewed consent.
